It's a Lynx - Not a Cat.

And the lynx continues...

I finally finished the thing and it is currently slow drying and hopefully heading into the bisque fire kiln this weekend. Now I just need to worry about glazing it without ruining all my work. I'm kind of thinking of just doing an oxide with a white glaze. But I kind of want to do bronze too. I don't know.

Lynx Revisited

My lynx is making progress. I want this thing to be done and I'm having a really hard time deciding how to glaze it. All white? White with gold? Sand and black? Red?

Lynx Attack!

I've been taking ceramics classes at Choplet on Grand Street in Williamsburg. My first project was a snail coin bank (no photos yet - it's being glaze fired right now) - that one was just a warm-up. My current project is a lynx mask wall decoration. I have a minor obsession with lynx. Iberian lynx to be exact. It's a pretty difficult project because I have a very specific image in my head. The eyes are really tricky - these photos were taken before I ripped out the left eye and moved it closer to the nose. I realized that it was starting to look a little like an alien. My goal is to make this perfect and then make a mold of it so I can make duplicates. Or should I say "duplicats". Wocka wocka wocka.
