My Baby Shower: Part I

I just got around to uploading photos from my baby shower, which was held in September! My mom threw the shower along with my aunt, and with help from some good friends.

Babymoon on the West Coast

Over Labor Day weekend Abe and I boarded Virgin America for a flight from JFK to LAX.  Our week long trip to SoCal included visiting some of Abe's family, attending the wedding of close friends (Congratulations, Chelsea and Sam!!), and visiting with one of my best friends and her hubby, who I only get to see maybe once a year (if I'm lucky).

I was not looking forward to flying being that I'm 7 months pregnant, but the flight from JFK > LAX was remarkably comfortable. I had an aisle seat - easy access to the bathroom and to walk around, our seat neighbors were really nice - one couple from Brazil and another couple travelling with a 5 month old baby, and I had the entire season 1 of Game of Thrones on my laptop.

The flight back was not as sweet, but I blame it more on being a red eye than anything else. Even if I wasn't pregnant I wouldn't have done well on that flight.  Lesson learned, no more red eyes.

Trip Highlights (aside from seeing family, old friends, and the marriage of two wonderful people):

  • Survived an 3.2 earthquake
  • Amazing home-cooked meals by Elise & Alex, Cheryl and Leah
  • Lots of beach and pool time
  • Meeting new dog friends

First thing off the plane? Hit up In-N-Out Burger.

Chelsea and Sam's wedding was at a vineyard so they incorporated wine into the ceremony.

I spent a lot of time here.

Congratulations to Jaime and Ezra!

On the Friday before Christmas Eve, while they were packing their bags for the weekend, Ezra and their dog Wesley proposed to my little sister.  Needless to say, it was a very exciting Christmas weekend filled with extra celebration!

Jaime is my little sister, best friend, and I love her more than anything in the world.  When she introduced me to Ezra it felt like he was meant to be part of our family (not to mention that we also love his family).  I feel so lucky that he'll be my brother-in-law.

Margot and Matt Get Married!

This weekend was the beautiful wedding of Margot and Matt.  It took place in the Catskills of New York where we were surrounded by mountains, trees, rivers and a seriously awesome group of people.   Congratulations to a very special duo!!!! You'll have a lifetime of happiness together.

Hurricane Irene was looming near as the weekend festivities began Friday night with a fancy BBQ dinner, but she stayed away long enough for us to enjoy the scenary and toast marshmallows at the s'mores station.

Saturday was the BIG DAY and about 10 of us girls drove from the Emerson Resort to the Onteora Mountain House sip champagne while Margot put on her face.  Margot is the most stylish person I know and she seriously delivered with her wedding outfit.  Meredith and I had a photoshoot of Margot's wedding shoes for a good 15 minutes.

Alas, the forecasted hurricane started to sweep in just as we were leaving the Emerson for the wedding at the Onteora.  Honestly, we hardly noticed the gray skies and rain.  The views were still spectacular and the pavillion was warm and bursting with colors.

At the reception we had a delicious dinner and dessert, sweet toasts to the bride and groom, and dancing...LOTS and lots of dancing.
