Margot and Matt Get Married!

This weekend was the beautiful wedding of Margot and Matt.  It took place in the Catskills of New York where we were surrounded by mountains, trees, rivers and a seriously awesome group of people.   Congratulations to a very special duo!!!! You'll have a lifetime of happiness together.

Hurricane Irene was looming near as the weekend festivities began Friday night with a fancy BBQ dinner, but she stayed away long enough for us to enjoy the scenary and toast marshmallows at the s'mores station.

Saturday was the BIG DAY and about 10 of us girls drove from the Emerson Resort to the Onteora Mountain House sip champagne while Margot put on her face.  Margot is the most stylish person I know and she seriously delivered with her wedding outfit.  Meredith and I had a photoshoot of Margot's wedding shoes for a good 15 minutes.

Alas, the forecasted hurricane started to sweep in just as we were leaving the Emerson for the wedding at the Onteora.  Honestly, we hardly noticed the gray skies and rain.  The views were still spectacular and the pavillion was warm and bursting with colors.

At the reception we had a delicious dinner and dessert, sweet toasts to the bride and groom, and dancing...LOTS and lots of dancing.

Margot's Catskills Bach Party

Last weekend eleven girls in their 30's headed up into the Catskill Mountains to celebrate our bride-to-be best friend, Margot.   Our group of friends do bachelorette parties a little differently than what you see on Bridezilla.  Our celebrations center around 27 bottles of wine, Fleetwood Mac dance parties, gourmet-level meals, signature cocktails, diving contests, tie-dying, and our favorite inflatable man, Juan.  Of course, it wouldn't be a bachelorette party without at least one (in)appropriately-themed pinata.

Best Friends in Beacon

The summer of 2011 might go down in the books as the best summer EVER!  This weekend a gaggle of my best friends headed up to the Hudson Valley and camped out between the homes of the three residents in Beacon and Cold Spring.

Friday night we had everyone over to my house for grilling and chilling.  We had quite of spread of cheeses, salads, grilled veggies and grilled pizza...and lots of wine.  We ended the night with s'mores.

Ari ended the night with the recent issue of Martha Stewart Living.

On Saturday we all met up at the waterfall and witnessed a tiny wedding.  It was really sweet and we felt like their uninvited guests (in bathing suits).

Saturday night the boys went to a Renegades baseball game and some of the girls went to dinner at Max's.  Meredith and I went home after that and got sucked into hours of the show My Strange Addiction.  I highly reccomend you watch the episode where the woman is addicted to eating laundry detergent.

Solid Summer Weekend

This weekend I didn't have any definite plans, which was a-ok with me. On Friday I started a big project in my office - building a window seat with storage.  This took up most of the day, but I stopped in the evening so Abe and I could go to Max's on Main for dinner, beer and live music.

On Saturday I kept working on my window seat, took Lily for a swim in the Hudson River, and prepped food for dinner.  We had our crew over Saturday night for grilled pizzas and s'mores over the fire pit!  Piper, Jess and I stayed up late performing the musical HAIR in my living room while Abe and Lily slept on the couch.

Sunday was the ultimate summer day.  Colleen, Piper, Jess, Neil, Kelly & I went to Lake Canopus for some beach fun and swimming.  I'm not a big lover of lakes (I like my water moving) and this lake was not one of my favorites for swimming, but it was still refreshing on a hot day.  After the lake we hit up a secret magical swimming hole at the base of a waterfall.

And finally, before settling down to the Jaycee Dugard first interview special on tv, Abe and I went to Poppy's for burgers and then to Zora Dora for a stawberry-mango-rhubarb popsicle.

Wedding Reception Wisconsin-style

I don't know how many of you spent the 4th with an Elvis impersonator, bluegrass band, Indian dancing, and Jagermeister, but Abe and I did and it was awesome.
