DIY: Mailbox Makeover

When we moved into the house there was a black, dusty, dirty mailbox hanging next to the front door (and strategically covering up a big dent in the siding).

We could have just bought a new mailbox, but that's no fun!  By giving the old one a makeover we saved $20 and are now the proud owners of a one-of-a-kind mailbox that color coordinates with the porch.

It's hard to pick out an accent color to go with the rusty red siding and white trim, but we're both feeling pretty good about the purple.

Supplies

Cost:  $4-$18 depending on whether or not you need to buy a mailbox
